A former Burger King in Cherry Hill is being converted into an 85°C Bakery Café, a Taiwanese chain with over 1,000 locations worldwide. The chain, which already has a presence in states like California, Hawaii, and Texas, is expanding to New Jersey, with the Cherry Hill location at 1445 Brace Road listed as “coming soon” on the company’s website.
Founded in 2003 by Cheng-Hsueh Wu, 85°C Bakery Café was inspired by Wu’s visit to a high-end hotel café, where he noticed that gourmet pastries and drinks were priced out of reach for everyday enjoyment. His vision was to create a café offering premium coffee, bread, and cakes at affordable prices.
