J.C. Penney Stores Sold for $17.7M in NJ and WA

Two J.C. Penney anchor stores, one in New Jersey and one in Washington, sold for a combined $17.7 million amid the retailer’s bankruptcy proceedings. The Cherry Hill Mall location in Cherry Hill, NJ, spanning 181,337 square feet, sold for $4.8 million, per a securities filing by Copper Property CTL Pass Through Trust, based in Jersey City. The buyer was not disclosed. Meanwhile, a 160,123-square-foot store at Alderwood Mall in Lynnwood, WA, was sold to Transnational Investments of Houston for $12.9 million, according to CoStar data.
